Govt bans 20 'anti-India' YouTube channels, two websites under new IT rules

The Youtube channels and the websites were allegedly running anti-India content from Pakistan.


20 YouTube channels and two sites on Monday were brought somewhere around India later the Union government, interestingly, summoned the crisis powers under the mediator rules and advanced media morals code in the IT Act that was advised as of late, as per a news report in Economic Times.

As per the paper, I&B secretary Apurva Chandra coordinated YouTube and the Department of Telecom to boycott the substance as it encroaches upon the sway and trustworthiness of India.

I&B authorities said that the 'counter India content' was being controlled by Pakistan with the assistance of Inter-Services Intelligence. One of the gatherings distinguished on YouTube was 'Naya Pakistan' that had multiple million supporters and was running 'bogus news' on different issues, for example, Kashmir, ranchers fights in India, Article 370, and Ayodhya. 

The complete endorser base of these YouTube channels is assessed to be more than 3.5 million and have an all out viewership of 500 million, as indicated by the authorities.

These channels were hailed first by the security organizations later which the data service led its own request. "This is interestingly that the crisis powers under the IT Rules, 2021 have been refered to boycott enemies of India promulgation sites," a senior authority was cited as saying in the report.
